Sergey Brin Invests in Ibogaine Start-Up

Google co-founder bets on start-up focused on plant-based treatment for traumatic brain injuries.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin has invested in an ibogaine start-up using the proceeds from the sale of his remaining Tesla shares, the Financial Times reported.

Brin’s non-profit investment vehicle, Catalyst4, established with funds from his 2021 Tesla stock sale, has committed approximately $15 million to a $25 million funding round for Soneira, The Financial Times reported.

Soneira is launching a clinical trial to investigate ibogaine as a treatment for traumatic brain injuries.
