Myco Meditations Begins Rebuilding Effort After Hurricane Beryl

Retreats are on hold until the fall.

Extensive damage from Hurricane Beryl has forced Myco Meditations to suspend sessions at its Jamaican retreat center until the fall.

The retreat, located on Treasure Beach, has been heavily impacted by the hurricane. According to a statement from Myco Meditations, 80% of the structures in the area were either damaged or completely destroyed.

In response to the damage, the company has launched a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser has already surpassed its initial $100,000 goal and is now aiming for $150,000. As of Aug. 1, the company had raised $142,923.

Myco Meditations is currently involved in local relief efforts. The company reports it is conducting home-by-home assessments and prioritizing needs for aid distribution in the affected area. MycoMeditations is focusing on rebuilding approximately 100 houses, impacting over 300 residents in the Great Bay area.

The retreat center is known for its use of psilocybin in therapeutic settings. Prior to the hurricane, Myco Meditations had administered over 6,000 psilocybin doses to clients.
