Hope Therapeutics to Acquire Interventional Psychiatry Clinics in Florida

Founded in 2018, Dura Medical has clinics in Naples and Fort Myers.

Hope Therapeutics said it signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Dura Medical, which operates two interventional psychiatry clinics on the southwest coast of Florida.

Founded in 2018, Dura has clinics in Naples and Fort Myers. The clinics offers ketamine infusion therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, Spravato and other services to treat patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD and related disorders.

Dura Medical founder Stephen Durand will serve as director of Florida Clinic Operations, according to Hope Therapeutics.

“We founded Dura Medical with the mission to reduce suicide in our community and aim to treat more than 10,000 people by 2026,” Durand said in a news release. “We’re excited to align mission with the Hope Network and to lead Hope’s expansion in Florida and beyond.”

Hope, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRx Pharmaceuticals, signed a letter of intent to acquire the Florida clinics in October 2024. The deal closing “is subject to completion of financial audits, regulatory approvals, and the satisfaction of standard closing conditions,” according to Hope.

“Steve Durand has been a pioneer in combining the use of psychedelic medications with neuroplastic technologies, including TMS in the treatment of suicidal depression and PTSD,” said Jonathan Javitt and Matthew Duffy, co-CEOs of Hope Therapeutics, in a news release.

“We are excited to incorporate Dura’s tradition of excellence and commitment to patient care for civilians and veterans alike into Hope’s Florida network.”

In late March, Hope said it signed a letter of intent to acquire a majority interest in Neurospa TMS Holdings, which operates six interventional psychiatry clinics on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Hope noted that both Dura and Neurospa are revenue-generating and EBITDA-positive businesses.
